Blue Zircon and diamond drop pendant dating to the mid 20th century. A large and wonderfully sea coloured blue zircon is set in 15 dainty little platinum claws at the base of a double diamond drop necklace. The diamonds are bezel set with the largest at the top and the smaller one in the middle. A platinum topped 14 carat yellow gold bar keeps the gemstones in a perfect row is articulated at the bottom of the top diamond and where the blue zircon is attached. The articulation allows some movement in this pendant. The fine 14 carat white gold chain is attached to the top diamond and closes with a spring bolt clasp. Circa 1940s, likely Continental European in origin.

Blue zircon: measures approx 9.35 mm and is calculated in setting as 6.70 carats.

Diamonds: 2, old European cut, approx 0.15 carats total diamond weight.

Not marked, tested as 14 carat yellow gold with a 14 carat white gold chain. The gemstones are set into a platinum top / claws.

Drop is approx 3.5 cm / 1.4 inches, and pendant is 9.9 mm wide at the base. Chain length is 42 cm / 16.5 inches

Weighs 3.7 grams.
