Antique 9 carat gold heart shaped clasp charm. This heart is designed in a lock style shape. The front is intricately engraved with a pansy style flower to the centre and scrolling foliate designs encircling the flower. The back has a coordinating hand engraved design, half with the same foliate scrolls and the other half with ivy leafs. A top loop clicks firmly into place, allowing this heart to be secured to an item. On the side is a smaller loop which can also be used, such as attaching a safety chain if this is to be bracelet clasp. This versatile piece can be worn as a charm, clasp or pendant. Circa 1890 - 1910, British in origin.

In very good condition. The clasp is firm and tight. There is slight movement front to back in the hinge which is normal as the two pieces are joined together.

Stamped 9ct, professionally tested and assessed as 9 carat gold. The gold is a lightly rose, warm colour.

Measures approx 28.7 mm / 1.15 inches not including the top jump ring, by 18.6 mm / 0.75 inches wide, by 4.15 mm / 0.16 inches deep.

Weighs 5.7 grams. This is much larger and heavier than we usually see in heart padlocks.

Stamped 9ct with a maker's mark of ACC. Professionally tested and assessed as 9 carat gold throughout. The antique gold is typical, between modern yellow and rose though much closer to yellow in colour.

Measures approx 24.8 mm / 1 inch tall by 16.2 mm / 0.65 inches wide by 3.8 mm deep.
