Antique love heart shaped ring set with a garnet in a seed pearl surround dating to the Georgian period. This sublime ring features a glittery heat cut reddish purple garnet and is framed by a halo of creamy white seed pearls. A twist gold design adorns the shoulders, setting off the split shank design of the band. The band is a double row with a split design near the top which comes together at the back. This is a lovely and sentimental piece dating to the early 1800s, 1809 and is likely British in origin.
Garnet: reddish purple in colour, heat cut, approx 4.7 mm tall and 4.5 mm wide. Shows some age related surface wear visible to the unaided eye.
Seed pearls: 11, creamy white in colour, approx 1.8 mm each.
Partial hallmarks of a maker's mark, I.P., George's head, a lion, and date letter, l. Assay office and gold fineness stamps lost due to wear or previous resizing. Tested as 18 carat gold. Dated to 1809.
Size: UK - L; US - 5 3/4; EU - 16 1/4. This ring is not recommended for sizing down. It can be made several sizes larger. Sizing available for an additional fee.
Measures 9.9 mm by 9 mm and rises 3.5 mm tall off the finger.
