Pretty early to mid 18th century eleven stone diamond hoop ring. This late Georgian to early Victorian era ring features 11 old mine cut diamonds in various shapes. The largest three diamonds are square cushion in shape. The next couple are more rectangular in shape and the end diamonds are oval in shape. The diamonds are graduated in size and cover the entire top of the finger. Each of the diamonds is set into a claw setting in silver. This ring has a closed back setting with the back in gold. The band is a D shape band. Circa early 1800s, likely European in origin.
Diamonds: 11, old mine cushion cut in various shapes. Due to the closed back setting these diamonds are very hard to estimate in setting. The largest 3 are approx 2 mm square tapering down to the smallest end oval shaped diamonds which are approx 1.5 mm by 1.8 mm. Approx 0.45 - 0.55 carats, near colourless, mostly VS2 / SI1 clarity one central diamond has an eye visible inclusion and one has a chip along it's crown facet which cannot be seen without magnification. All gradings estimated within the limits of the mounting.
Marked 18ct for 18 carat gold. The diamonds are set into a silver top and the closed back of the setting and the band are 18 carat yellow gold.
Size: UK -N 1/2; US - 7; EU - 17 1/4. This ring cannot be made any smaller and can be sized up to P / 7.75.
Measures 3.88 mm wide and rises 3.2 mm tall off the finger.
Weighs 2.65 grams.
