French Art Deco Diamond Pendant, Old Mine Cut Diamond in Buttercup Style Circle Setting with Milgrain Beading.
Add to WishlistFabulous French Art Deco diamond pendant! An old mine cut diamond is set in a six claw prong buttercup style setting. The diamond swings gently from within a circle shaped frame. The frame around the keystone diamond is circle shaped on the outside and cut out as a square on the inside. Between the shapes is a beaded design which is set with four small accent diamonds. A further diamond is set in the bail. The edges of the setting are lined in milgrain beading. This pendant dates to around 1915 - 1930s and is French in origin.
Diamonds: one centre old mine cut diamond, approx 3.3 mm, calculated in setting as 0.16 carats, J / K colour, SI clarity. There are also 5 small accent diamonds.
Hallmarked with the eagle's head and dog's head, the French hallmarks for 18 carat gold and platinum respectively. This pendant is mostly 18 carat yellow gold with the top of this pendant in platinum.
Pendant measures 2.25 cm / 0.88 inches long including bail by 1.4 cm / 0.55 inches wide.
The modern 9 carat white gold chain is available in 40.5cm (16"), 45.5cm (18") or the pendent is available with no chain at all.
Weighs 3.25 grams.
