Stunning mid 20th century five stone diamond ring. The five round brilliant cut diamonds are set in a line, each in four claws. From the side the claws form a u shape allowing the entire of the diamond to be seen. On either side of the row of diamonds is a small triangle shape leading to a knife edge shank.
This is a substantial ring, both in carat weight and metal weight. The diamonds cover most of the top of the finger and the gentle curve of the setting allows them to catch light from various angles. This ring looks just as good paired with a plain band as it does a diamond solitaire. Circa 1940s - 1950s, North American in origin.
Diamonds: 5, round brilliant cut, approx 2.9 mm each and estimated in setting as 0.47 carats total weight, G / H colour, 4 at VS clarity, 1 at SI clarity.
Stamped 10% IRID PLAT. Tested and assessed as 90% Platinum, 10% Iridium, slightly different to the modern British standard of 95 / 5.
Size: UK - N 1/2; US - 7; EU - 17.25. This ring has previously been sized larger. It can be side down to K.5 / 5.5 / 16. It cannot be sized any larger. Sizing available for an additional fee.
