Antique 9 carat rose gold heart shaped clasp charm. This heart is designed in a lock style shape. The front side is engraved with a lovely foliate style design. Pride of place within the engraving is a fern leaf. Ferns were meant to symbolism sincerity.
On the back side is an original inscription reading "MC" with little flourishes around it. A top loop clicks into place, allowing this heart to be secured to an item. The clasp is tight and holds very well. At the top of the love heart is a small bail to allow this item to threaded through a safety chain. This versatile piece can be worn as a charm, clasp or pendant. Dates to the late Victorian to Edwardian era, circa 1890s - 1910, British in origin.
Stamped 9ct and the maker's mark S.Bros. Professionally tested and assessed to the 9 carat gold standard. The maker's make is likely for Charles and William Sheldon.
