Emerald and diamond cockail ring dating to the mid 20th century. A square cut emerald is set in the middle of a dazzling array of diamonds. Twelve marquise and round brilliant cut diamonds are layered in an asymmetrical oblong design. The basket under the gemstones is crafted in graceful arches and whorls to support them to a split shank design knife edge band. The back side of this ring is stamped with French marks. Circa 1940s - 1950s, French in origin.
Emerald: square shape, step cut, measures approx 4.2 mm by 3.8 mm.
Diamonds: 12 total. 4 marquise cut, 8 round brilliant cut. Total carat weight calculated within the limits of the setting 1.20, H / I colour, VS2 / SI1 clarity.
French hallmarks on back of shank, French's eagles head. Tested and assessed as 18 carat gold.
Size: UK - K; US - 5 1/4; EU - 16. This ring can be sized between I / 4.5 and O / 7.25. Sizing available for an additional fee.
Measures approx 2 cm / 0.8 inches by 1.11 cm/ 0.44 inches on top and stands 0.91 cm tall off the finger.
