Stunning diamond and pearl brooch crafted in the shape of a wreath. The pearls are shade of creamy white and pale ivory. Between each pearl is a platinum shaped leaf studded with diamonds. Each leaf holds two clear single cut diamonds. The leaves are edged with very fine milgrain and have a diamond shaped pattern in them. Dates to the early 20th century.
The brooch is closes securely and the latch swivels into place with a slight snapping noise so that you know it’s closed.
Diamonds: 16, each 1.8 to 2 mm. Total estimated weight 0.32 carats. G to K colour, VS1 to SI1 clarity.
Cultured Pearls: 8, 4.15 – 4.24 mm. Colours vary slightly from a creamy white to rich pale ivory. A few of the pearls have small pits on the surface and a couple are not perfectly round.
Hallmarks: none. The gold back tests as 18 carat gold is a rose-yellow in colour. The top tests as platinum.
Measures 3 cm / 1.18 inches in diameter.
