Antique aquamarine pear drop necklace dating to the Edwardian era. What a showstopper this is! I adore everything about it. A slender gold chain is integral, connecting at a bezel set round cut aquamarine. An articulated bar is oblong in shape and connects to a large pear formed of 14 bezel set aquamarine gemstones. Each of the aquas has a lovely high crown typical of an older cut stone. The uniqueness of this piece gets me every time! Aquamarine is the birthstone for March. Circa early 20th century, around 1900 - 1910, British in origin.

This necklace is in very good condition.

Aquamarines: 15 total, round cut. Top is approx 2.7 mm. The other 14 form a pear shape and are approx 2.4 mm each. They match well and are a beautifully sky blue colour.

Stamped 9ct on the side of the bar connecting the aquamarine sections and on the spring bolt clasp. Professionally tested and assessed as 9 carat gold throughout.

Entire drop length measures approx 42.8 mm / 1.7 inches. The pear shape measures approx 22.1 mm / 0.88 inches in length by 13.1 mm / 0.52 inches in width. Wearable length is 40.5 cm / 16 inches.

Weighs 3.2 grams.
