Antique opal single stone ring. An oval shape cabochon cut opal is set in 12 claw setting on a 9 carat yellow gold band. The opal displays very good play of colour with yellow, orange, blue and green. The colours in this opal are wonderful! The band is narrow at the opal and widen at the back in a square profile with flat interior, exterior and sides. Circa 1890s - 1910.

This ring has had both shoulders reinforced at the band previously.

Opal: oval shape cabochon cut, approx 10.7 mm by 7.5 mm. As with most opals, the colours vary depending on the lighting. This opal is mostly orange and blue in incandescent lighting and more yellows and greens in sunlight. Marked 9ct for 9 carat gold.

Size: UK - K; US - 5 1/4; EU - 15.8. This ring is not recommended for sizing smaller and can be sized several sizes larger. Sizing available for an additional fee.

Measures approx 11.85 mm by 8.45 mm and stands 6.5 mm tall off the finger.
