An elegant antique double old mine cut diamond twist ring.  This beauty dates to the late 19th century and features two old mine cut diamonds set in platinum claw style settings.  The 18 carat yellow gold shank is in a twist or bypass design so that the diamonds are set across the finger at an angle.  This style is meant to represent both people in the couple and was popular during the latter part of the 1800s.  I think it's terribly romantic and sweet!

The diamonds are old mine cut, an older hand cut style of diamond.  These older cut diamonds are typically deeper with a slightly out of round profile, smaller table, and steep crown.  They have a lovely and large open culet which produces a great kozibe effect under magnification.

Diamonds: 2, old mine cut.  One is approx 4.15 - 4.45 mm, estimated in setting as 0.36 carats, L / M colour, VS clarity.  The other is approx 4.1 - 4.1 mm, estimated in setting as 0.38 carats, K colour, VS clarity.  Total carat weight, calculated as setting permits: 0.74 carats.

Hallmarked 18 ct Plat.  The diamonds are set in platinum crown style settings and the rest of this ring is 18 carat yellow gold.

Size: UK - L; US - 5.8; EU - 51.5.  This ring can be sized down to J.5 / 5.25 or made several sizes larger.  INCLUDES RESIZING to O

Measures approx 7.85 mm wide and rises about 5.6 mm tall from the finger.
