Sweet Art Deco sapphire and diamond ring featuring a blue sapphire in a diamond frame. The royal blue colour step cut sapphire is surrounded by an eight cut / single cut diamond halo. The sapphire is set at an angle with the ring elongated up the finger. There is a diamond set into each shoulder with the band wider where the shoulders meet the band, tapering at the back. Circa 1910s - 1920s, British in origin.

Sapphire: royal blue, square step cut. Approx 3.25 mm, estimated in setting as 0.28 carats.

Diamonds: 8, single cut, 0.04 carats together.

Marks are rubbed, partial legible. Tested as 18 carat gold and platinum. The gemstones are set in platinum and the rest of this ring is 18 carat yellow gold.
