Stunning sapphire and diamond cluster ring dating to the Art Deco era. In a classic geometric deco design, this ring is set with a square cut blue sapphire at an angle. The sapphire is bezel set and framed by a halo of glittering diamonds which taper in size to perfection to coordinate them with the shape of the sapphire. The entire gemstone set top of this ring is outlined in milgirain beading adding a bit of extra pop. A gold band meets the top of this ring giving it a two-tone look. Circa mid 1920s - 1930s, British in origin.
In very good condition, very slight thinning at back of the band.
Sapphire: square step cut in a bright, rich blue, measuring 3.3 mm and calculated as 0.29 carats.
Diamonds: 10 total, single cut, measuring between 1.1 mm and 1.5 mm to total 0.10 carats together.
Stamped A.W.C&S. 18ct & PT. This ring has been professionally tested and assessed as primarily 18 carat gold, which is yellow in colour. The very top edge is platinum. The A.W.C&S. is the maker's mark for A W Crosbee & Sons Ltd, a jeweller in business from the late 19th century to mid 20th century.
