Vintage ruby and diamond ring dating to the Art Deco era. A beautifully red step cut ruby is bezel set in a double row of milgrain beading. In a kite shape on either side is a single cut diamond. I love the colour of the ruby, it's a great red colour with a touch of pink, a truly rich colour. A simple gold band comes to a point at the edge of the diamond setting and this taper makes it look as though the gemstone set top is floating on the finger. The gold band widens at the back and is domed in profile. Circa mid 1910s to mid 1930s, British in origin.

In very good condition with minor age related wear to the engraved top in keeping with age and use.

Ruby: rectangular in shape, step cut measuring approx 4 mm by 3.6 mm and calculated as 0.20 carats with the limits of the mounting.

Diamonds: 2, single cut measuring approx 1.4 mm each to total 0.03 carats together.

Stamped 18ct PLAT. Professionally tested and assessed as primarily 18 carat yellow gold with the very top edge in platinum.
