Absolutely exquisite bangle bracelet featuring a buckle design and dates to the late Victorian period. This bracelet is crafted in 15 carat yellow gold and shows stunning craftsmanship. The front section is designed to look like a buckle and is in the middle is gleaming white old European cut diamond. The buckle style design is very nicely formed with a delicate swoop and curve that gives the impression of it being liquid gold.

To the top and bottom of the buckle is a rope. Intricately detailed strands of gold rope highly the buckle beautifully. To the sides are beaded flourishes, the ornateness contrasting to the smooth, sleeker buckle.

Inside the back part of this bracelet has been engraved with the original owner's initials and a date. It reads "J.M.A. 29-10-96". There is also a stylish carved symbol which looks to be an entwined set of initials such as one normally has for a monogram. This bracelet dates to the 1890s.

This bracelet would have originally be gilded with a brighter 18 carat yellow gold to give it a bright, more yellow look. This was very common in this style of bracelet. The original gilding has started to wear off and the slight difference in colours between the gilded and ungilded gold can be seen in some places, especially around the edges of the pattern and beaded design.

The bracelet snaps closed and has an attached safety chain. The oval shape fits the shape of the wrist perfectly and makes it very comfortable to wear.

Hallmarked on the outside back as 15 carat gold. This bracelet bares a full set of UK hallmarks which have faded a bit with time and polishing. We are unable to determine the date letter.

Diamond: 1, old European cut. Estimated in setting as 0.10 carats, 3 mm, F - H colour, I clarity.

Measures 5.65 cm / 2.22 inches by 4.75 cm / 1.87 inches inside diameter.
Inside circumference is 16.3 cm / 6.4 inches.

Measures 8.85 mm wide at the widest point of the buckle and 5 mm wide at the narrowest, undecorated point.

There is a very shallow dent in the inside near the start of the engraving. It can be seen in that the light doesn't reflect as smoothly off of that small area. This cannot be seen from the outside or while the bracelet is being worn.
