Antique sterling anchor link book chain necklace. What a wonderful tactile piece! Puffed anchor or mariner style links are connected together by smaller oval links. At one end is an oversized, typically Victorian, clasp. These chains were usually worn with the clasp to the front to display a large pendant or locket. The clasp can also be worn to the back letting the bold links make a statement on their own. Circa late 19th to early 20th century, British in origin.

In very good condition with minor age related wear.

Not marked, professionally tested and assessed as sterling silver.

Measures approx 47 cm / 18.5 inches in length by 12.4 mm wide. Each of the anchor links are about 16 mm long by 12.4 mm wide.

Weighs 30 grams.
