Beautiful antique engraved sterling silver book chain. This chunky Victorian era chain features large wide links which are engraved with a scroll style design. Connecting each of these are rounded plain links which coordinate with the style of the clasp. The oversized bolt clasp is designed to the worn to the front with a large pendant or locket but it looks just as nice worn to the back keeping the focus on the chain links. Circa late 19th century, British in origin.
In good condition. Some age related wear between the links, very secure and doesn't notice when worn. Clasp is good and tight.
Not marked, professionally tested and assessed as sterling silver.
Measures 45.5 cm / 18 inches end to end by 11.2 mm wide.
Weighs 18 grams.
