Lovely pair of Victorian sterling silver drop earrings with a gold floral design. These aesthetic movement earrings have been crafted in sterling silver with the floral design accented with 9 carat rose and green gold. The round drop has a raised section in the centre on which there is a single flower. A rope outlines this section. Along the edges is an engraved design decorated with studs and a beaded along the edge of the earrings. The engraved drops swing gently from a sterling silver ear wire. Circa 1880s, British in origin.

These earrings may have been conversions from buttons or another piece of jewellery. The backs show signs of solder, as would be normal in a conversion, and the ear wires appears to be additions.

Not marked, tested as sterling silver. The floral design on top is 9 carat gold.

Drop approx 3.65 cm / 1.44 inch from the top of the ear wire. Measure approx 1.85 mm / 0.73 inches wide at widest point.

Weighs 4.75 grams together.
