Blue sapphire three stone engagement ring. Three light to medium blue oval cut sapphires are set in a platinum crown style setting. The sapphires are oval in shape and are old cut with medium to large open culets. An 18 carat yellow gold band slopes up to meet the edges of the sapphires. This ring is very classic is style and sapphires have long been used in engagement rings, however it's a bit unusual to have an entirely sapphire three stone ring! Circa 1900s, British in origin.

Sapphires: 3 old oval cut blue sapphires. Centre sapphire is a light blue in colour, measures approx 5.25 mm by 4.4 mm and calculated in setting as 0.33 carats, shows some natural inclusions visible to the unaided eye. Side sapphires are a medium royal blue in colour, measure approx 3.85 mm by 3 mm and are calculated in setting as 0.14 carats each, eye clean. Total weight, estimated as setting permits, is 0.61 carats.

Marked 18ct & PLAT. This ring is 18 carat yellow gold with the claws in platinum.
