Antique ruby and chrysoberyl gemstone spider pendant. This sweet antique bug came to us loose so we've attached a bail making it wearable once again! We've called her Rose. Rose is smaller in size and beautifully crafted. She has eight gloriously golden long legs and two wonderfully intact pedipalps (feelers). The thorax is set with a purplish pink ruby and the abdomen with a contrasting green chrysoberyl. Circa 1880s - 1910 spider, modern conversion.
In very good condition. A very wearable piece in the greatest spring colours!
Ruby: purplish-pink in colour, oval cut, approx 2.5 mm by 2.1 mm
Chrysoberyl: lime green in colour, round cut, approx 4 mm wide.
Not hallmarked, professionally tested and assessed as 9 carat gold. As is true for antique gold, it's slightly rosy in colour, though much closer to yellow gold in colour.
Measures approx 16.35 mm / 0.65 inches long as it hangs, not including the bail, by 16.2 mm / 0.64 inches wide.
Weighs 0.6 grams.
This piece can be supplied on a modern 9 carat yellow gold chain, as shown on model. Please choose the length you require at checkout.
