Antique garnet single stone engagement ring. A lovely oval cut deep red garnet is set in an eight claw rex style mounting. Garnet is birthstone for January and comes in a wide range of colours. This particular garnet is a deep, dark red which is often the shade people first think of when they think of garnets! It's a lovely chubby oval with wide shoulders with a fluted split shank design. Circa turn of the 20th century.

Garnet: oval cut, approx 8.15 mm by 6.3 mm. Calculated within the limits of the mounting at 1.4 carats.

Stamped 18c, professionally tested and assessed as 18 carat yellow gold.
