Antique old mine cut diamond engagement ring. A French buttercup style setting holds a single old mine cut diamond. The setting is flamboyant with high claws creating a collar around the centre diamond and leading to the most gorgeous buttercup design. Tapered supports on the shoulders each contain two small rose cut bead set diamonds. The diamond dates to the late 1800s while the setting is early 1900s in style, French in origin.

The old mine cut diamond is slightly off round and set down into the setting. This style of diamond, cut around 1860s - 1880s, has a lovely high crown and a very small table.

Diamond: old mine cut, approx 4.6 - 5.0 mm, calculated in setting as 0.55 carats, K / L colour, SI1 clarity. 4 small rose cut accent diamonds.

French hallmarks to the back of the back for 18 carat gold.

Size: UK - R 1/2; US - 8 3/4; EU - 18 3/4. This ring can be sized down to P / 7.75 or made several sizes larger. Sizing available for an additional fee.

Measures approx 10.7 mm wide and rises 8.15 mm tall off the finger.

Weighs 3.7 grams.
