Decorative 15 carat gold pendant displaying a bird sitting on top of a gold crown. The bird and crown are both incredibly detailed with clusters of feathers outlining the bird's features and groupings of polished and matte gold highlighting the crown's shape. This pendant has simple lines making the bird and crown easy to see. The theme of the bird and crown is often seen in French pieces and this piece is European in origin.

The back of this pendant is hand-engraved with two dates written in rows 10.11.15 and 9.8.16. The meaning is unknown though it's very possible that this pendant is a sentimental mourning token. The theme of a bird on a crown is not uncommon and has several different meanings depending on the culture of the person wearing the token. One of it's more common meanings in European history is the bird representing a bridge between heaven and earth and the crown a bridge between godly spirits and kings.

Marked 15ct for 15 carat on the back of the pendant and tested as such.

Pendant measures 3.6 cm long including bail by 1.88 cm wide - approx 1.42 inches long by 0.74 inches wide.

Chain is 43 cm / 17 inches long, modern, 9 carat gold, not marked, tested, and approx 1.35 mm wide.

Weighs 4.8 grams.
