Antique 15ct gold safety pin. This simple 15k gold safety pin is made from medium gauge wire. The top is squared wire of approx 1.2 mm and the pin section is rounded wire of approx 1.1 mm. It's an older, less common style which is sprung at one end to allow it to catch in it's clasp and secure the sharp end. Antique safety pins have a variety of modern uses from being a simple brooch to securing a shawl or scarf (perfect for those winter months!) or on the end of a chain to lengthen it and give a place to secure charms. It would also make a great tie pin, simple and classy. Circa early 20th century, British in origin.
Stamped AC&S for the maker and 15ct. Professionally tested and assessed as 15 carat gold. The gold is between yellow and rose in colour as British antique gold often is.
Measures approx 35 cm / 1.4 inches long by 5.55 mm / 0.22 inches tall.
