Vintage amethyst cocktail ring. A stunningly vivid purple amethyst is framed by a halo of diamonds in a ballerina style design. Ballerina designs, made popular during the mid 20th century, and usually consisting of baguette and round cut diamonds, are a distinctive style which mimic the skirts of a ballerina mid dance. Baguette diamonds are set into the shoulders of this ring with the rest of the halo formed of round single cut diamonds. The deep, royal purple of the amethyst perfectly contrasts with the diamonds to create a wonderful and unique dress ring. Circa 1950s - 1970s.

Amethyst: oval cut, approx 9 mm by 7.1 mm and calculated as 1.55 carats within the limits of the mounting.

Diamonds: 14 single cut measuring approx 1.75 mm, 0.02 carats each. 2 straight baguette cut measuring approx 2.7mm by 1.75 mm, 0.06 carats each. Total 0.40 carats, H - J colour, VS2 - SI1 clarity as calculated within the limits of the mounting.

Stamped 18ct, professionally tested and assessed as 18 carat yellow and white gold.
