Vintage cabochon cut amethyst ring dating to the 1970s. This ring is set with a sizeable deep purple amethyst which has a nice, high dome. The mounting slopes up to the bezel setting creating a smooth, domed look and feel. It's widest at the top and gently sloped down and narrows at the back of the band. The amethyst is a stunning colour and glows in lower lighting. Circa 1970s, British in origin.

Amethyst: oval shape, cabochon cut, approx 9.5 mm by 7.5 mm.

Hallmarked for 9 carat gold, assayed in Sheffield, date letter for 1977.

Size: UK - M.5; US - 6.5; EU - 16,9. Due to the domed shape of the band and the bezel setting of the gemstone, we'd against resizing this ring.

Measures approx 12.2 mm wide by 6.2 mm deep. 2.55 mm band.

Weighs 2.7 grams.
