Edwardian carnelian drop earrings. Long teardrop shaped orange-red chalcedony gemstones are suspended from gold chains. The natural stones show some colour banding of lighter and darker colours swirling together. These earrings secure with a simple pierced hook ear wire. Circa 1900s - 1910s.

Carnelian: measures approx 2.8 cm / 1.1 inches long and are approx 6.75 mm at widest point.

Marked 375 faintly on the ear wires. The ear wires are modern replacements. Tested as 9 carat gold throughout.
