Vintage fully engraved 18 carat white gold wedding ring. This late Art Deco era ring is designed as a hexagon. Each of the large flat sides is engraved with an engine turned waved lined pattern. Where each of the flat sides the meet are smaller flat sides. These smaller sides are engraved with a small curving flourish.

This ring has all the style of the previous Art Deco era, which came to an end in the 1930s. The engraved detail and fineness of this ring is striking. 1939 was the year which saw the outbreak of World War 2. Design was already staring to move away from Art Deco and the war made it even more so, with stronger, bolder pieces coming into fashion. The influences of both periods can often be seen in late 1930s pieces like this one.

Hallmarked for 18 carat gold, assayed in Chester, 1939.
