Antique morning glory sterling silver bangle bracelet dating to the late Victorian era. The top section is engraved with leaves, a scalloped edge and cross hatching. Morning glory flowers and leaves are applied to the top giving it a texture. Morning glories are flowers which bloom in a single day and in the language of flowers morning glories symbolise love and mortality. The back half of this bracelet is plain. Circa 1880s, British in origin.

Fully hallmarked for sterling silver, assayed in Birmingham, date letter for 1885. There is also a maker's mark of J.Bs which we believe is for Jackson Brothers, a Birmingham maker during the 1880s.

Measures approx 1.93 cm / 0.76 inches wide. Inside is approx 5.6 cm / 2.2 inches by 5 cm / 2 inches. Inside measures 16.5 cm / 6.5 inches in diameter. It is oval in shape so that the design stays on top of the wrist.

Weighs 25.55 grams.
