Antique niello and rose gold gilt chain. This chain is designed as alternating links. Oblong niello, which is silver inset with black enamel, links alternate with rose gold gilded links of the same style. Each end of this chain has a large jump ring in the same rose gold gilt. One end has a large hook through that the jump ring can slip through to fasten. The neck of the hook is tight to keep the chain in place when worn around the neck. Circa 1900, likely Continental European in origin.

Not marked, tested as 800 to 900 silver with rose gold gilt. Hook tested to the 9 carat standard.

Measures 42 cm / 16.5 inches end to end including hook closure, by approx 3.92 mm wide.
