Wonderful Georgian 15 carat gold seal designed as a snake. The body of the snake is looped around, forming the bail before biting its tail. This ouroboros design is meant to symbolise eternity. The seal is engraved on top with a little diamond design, with a bead in each diamond shape. The glass intaglio is etched with angel with a mace in one hand and an arrow in the other. The angel is looking down on a world which sits at its feet with the words IL.LE.BOULVERSE around the upper edge. I believe this translates to it is upsetting or it is turmoil. This seal can be worn as a charm or pendant. Circa early 19th century.

Not marked, tested as 15 carat gold.

Measures 18.35 mm / 0.72 inches tall and the bottom is 14.15 mm by 11.9 mm.

Weighs 2.9 grams.
