Incredible amethyst and diamond navette shaped ring. This ring is a stunner! The centre stone is a bright purple marquise cut amethyst which is rub over set in white gold. Around the edges of the amethyst, following it's shape, are 16 rose cut diamonds. The rose cut diamonds are bead set down into the mounting. Both the edges of the amethyst and the outer edge of this ring are lined in a row of milgrain beading.

This ring is set low to the finger, supported slightly off the finger by white gold scrolls which can be seen from the side view. The shank is simple, keeping with the elegant and fluid design. This ring is believed to date to the second quarter of the 20th century, approx 1920s - 1940s, and is Swedish in origin.

Amethyst: marquise cut, approx 6.7 mm by 3 mm and estimated in setting as 0.25 carats.

Diamonds: 16, rose cut.

Hallmarked with three crowns, the Swedish mark for 18 carat gold and tested as such.
