Antique 18 carat yellow gold keeper ring dating to the late Victorian era. This ring is designed to look as though it's crafted from three bands of gold. The bands are plaited or braided together with the section where they cross accented with little gold balls. There are six little gold balls. Circa 1890s, British in origin.

There are a lot of stories about the meaning and history of keeper rings. One being that they were given as a symbol and promise of a marriage to come, much like a modern engagement ring.

Fully hallmarked for 18 carat gold, assayed in London. Partial date letter due to previous resizing. We believe it looks like an "a" which would be 1896.

Size: UK - J 3/4; US - 5 1/4; EU - 15.8. Sizes taken from the leading edge. We don't recommend sizing this ring smaller. This ring can be sized up a few sizes. Sizing available for an additional fee.

Measures approx 7.12 mm wide and rises 2.15 mm tall off the finger.

Weighs 4.55 grams.
