Wonderful sterling silver Victorian brooch and earring set. A single large horseshoe makes a stunning and impactful brooch. Smaller single horseshoes of a matching design have hooks for pieced ears. The horseshoe is meant to bring good luck and should be worn facing down, as these are, so that the good luck pours down over you. Late Victorian, circa 1880s, British in origin.

Not hallmarked. Earrings and brooch tested and assessed as sterling silver. As was common, the pin portion of the brooch is steel for strength.

Earrings measure 2.62 cm / 1.03 inches long and are 18 mm wide at the widest point and weigh 2.15 grams.

Brooch measures 3.7 cm / 1.46 inches tall by 3.44 cm / 1.36 inches wide and weighs 5.85 grams.
