Antique engagement ring dating to the early 20th century. This early Art Deco ring is set with the most fantastic French cut lab created sapphire. The blue is gorgeous and as you'd expect, a French cut gem is just a sparkler! French cut is a cutting style where the table is cut at an angle to the girdle creating kite shaped facets at the corners and a diamond shaped table facet. Sloping shoulders are pierced with a leaf design and lined in a milgrain beaded edge. Each of the shoulders is set with a single diamond. Circa mid 1910s - 1920s.

Sapphire: lab created, French cut, approx 5.5 mm wide, calculated as 1 carat within the limits of the mounting.

Diamonds: 2, single cut, approx 0.02 carats total.

Stamped 18ct, professionally tested and assessed as 18 carat yellow gold.

Size: UK - K.5; US - 5.5; EU - 16,2. This ring can be sized between J / 5 tight / 15,6 and P.5 / 8 / 18,1. Sizing available for an additional fee.

Measures approx 5.95 mm wide by 4.3 mm deep. 1.1 mm wide band. The band is slender and delicate and the same width from beneath the gem set top all the way around. A more slender band is very normal for early 20th century pieces.

Weighs 1.8 grams.
