Antique ruby and diamond ring dating to the early 20th century. Seven sparkling diamonds are bead set in star shape with is outlined in milgrain beading. A halo of vivid red rubies are channel set in gold around the outter edge. The constrast between the diamonds and rubies is absolutely stunning! Little leaf shapes, engraved and topped in white gold, support the haloed top. The diamonds are set into a white top on a slender D shape profile band which is complete with French marking at the back, just between the fingers in this rings current size. Circa 1900, French in origin.

We'd recommend against using this as an engagement ring. While that was what it was originally an engagement ring, modern women are much harder on their hands than Edwardian women who didn't work outside the home or wash their own dishes were. It'd be best suited as a dress ring, safe to wear daily, but care must be taken to keep it in very good condition.
