Antique French cut sapphire and diamond engagement ring. The large and lovely blue square sapphire is French cut, with the table at an angle to the flat sides. It's bezel set with a narrow airline between it and diamond halo. The diamond of the surrounding halo are bead set and create a scalloped edge with larger arches at the corners. This is an original Art Deco ring which looks eye catching on the finger. The gemstones are set into a white top on a slender gold band. Circa 1920s, British in origin.

Sapphire: medium blue, French cut, approx 3.9 mm.

Diamonds: 16, single cut, approx 0.16 carats as calculated within the limits of the mounting.

Stamped 18ct PLAT. Professionally tested and assesses as 18 carat yellow gold with the gemstones set into a platinum top.
