Old European cut diamond single stone engagement ring. An antique 0.40 carat diamond is set in a simple six claw platinum setting. The diamond is a stunning antique cut which is really allowed to shine in the classic mounting. It has a lovely high crown, large open culet and the chunky facets that OECs are unknown for. This diamond is an early cut, dating to around the turn of the 20th century, and the setting is a bit later, around the late Art Deco era. The mounting is elegant in its simplicity, the shoulders are more domed near the top and pinch in right by the base of the diamond. Diamond is circa late 1800s and mounting is circa 1940s.

Diamond: old European cut, measures approx 4.5 mm and calculated as 0.40 carats, H / I colour, SI clarity within the limits of the mounting.

Size: UK - Q 1/2; US - 8 1/2; EU - 18 1/2. This ring can be sized several sizes smaller or larger. Sizing available for an additional fee.

Measures approx 5.75 mm wide and stands 5.9 mm tall.
