1930s synthetic sapphire and ruby line ring. The square shape step cut synthetic ruby and sapphire are set in a line up the finger. Each of the stones is sizeable and wonderfully coloured. Two diamonds, side by side, are set to the top and bottom of the line. The four diamonds are old European cuts. Framing the synthetic sapphire and ruby is a line of milgrain beading with another row around the entire top. This ring makes quite a statement, the perfect Art Deco piece! Circa 1930s, British in origin.

Synthetic sapphires and rubies were a late 19th century invention. It's was a wonderful way to be able to produce matching gemstones in the size and colour required. They were commonly used during the Art Deco era when there was a need for many matching gemstones for gem set jewellery.

Synthetic Ruby: square shape, step cut, approx 3.7 mm.

Diamonds: 4, old European cut, approx 0.15 carats total weight.

Stamped PLAT 18ct. Professionally tested and assessed as mostly 18 carat gold with the gemstones set into a platinum top.

Size: UK - M; US - 6 1/4; EU - 16 3/4. This ring can be resized between J / 5 and O / 7.25. Sizing available for an additional fee.

Measures approx 13.05 mm by 5 mm on the top and stands 3.4 mm tall off the finger.

Weighs 2.85 grams.
