Victorian diving swallow bangle bracelet crafted in sterling silver. The front section of this bracelet is engraved with a swallow diving through the reeds toward the water. Accenting the bird is a chequerboard design. Tucked off to the side, by the clasp is a ship. Since swallows returns to their nesting site yearly the birds were thought to be guarantee the safe return of sailors. The back half of this bracelet is plain. Circa 1880s, British in origin.

Fully hallmarked for sterling silver, assayed in Birmingham, date letter for 1886. There is also a maker's mark of J.F which is for James Fenton. There is also a patent number on the clasp.

Measures approx 16.5 cm / 6.5 inches internal circumference. 1.93 cm / 0.76 inches wide.
