A wonderful antique gem set converted bug pendant. A large cabochon cut turquoise measuring approx forms the abdomen with a double set of wings and thorax which are set with seed pearls. Small cabochon set rubies make up the eyes. This piece originally came to us as a late 19th century Victorian brooch and we've added a bail to make it a modern and wearable pendant.

Turquoise: slightly egg shaped cabochon measuring approx 6.2 mm by 5.3 mm.

Seed pearls: cultured, 9 total, measuring approx 1.8 mm to 2.9 mm each. The pearls show wear to their nacre visible under inspection.

Ruby: 2, cabochon cut, approx 0.80 mm each.

Not hallmarked, professionally tested as 14 carat gold.

Measures approx 18 mm / 0.71 inches tall not including bail by 17.5 mm / 0.70 inches as it hangs when worn.

Weighs 1.5 grams.
