Antique opal bezel set in an engraved ring. An oval shape cabochon cut opal is bezel / rub over set horizontally on a gold band engraved with flowers. The panels of the ring are engraved with four petalled flowers and a scroll style pattern. The opal shows lovely green and blue flashes of colour. This ring appears to have been a conversion with the opal added to the engraved band at some point. It sits low to the finger making it easy to wear. Circa early 20th century.

Opal: oval shape, cabochon cut, approx 7.7 mm by 6 mm.

Not hallmarked, professionally tested and assessed as 14 carat gold. The inside contains a personal inscription which reads, "M.L."

Size: UK - S 3/4; US - 9 3/4; EU - 19.3. Sizing down to N / 6.75 is possible, though it will disrupt the engraved pattern.

Measures approx 7 mm wide by 4.35 mm deep. Band is approx 2.95 mm wide.

Weighs 1.85 grams.
