Antique niello and rose gold gilt chain. This chain is possibly two Albert length chains which have been put together. One half of this long chain is designed as alternating single niello links with rose gold gilt links. The other half is designed as two niello links alternating with a pair of rose gold gilt links. The curb links are very well matched and the section in the middle is composed of five large trace chain style links. The niello spring bolt clasp can fit into these links allowing this chain to be worn doubled around the neck as a choker. It can also easily be worn as a single long chain. Circa 1900, French in origin.

Stamped 900 and with the French mark of a crab, professionally tested as 800 to 900 silver with rose gold gilt. Both sections of this chain have matching stamps.

Measures approx 73 cm / 28.75 inches end to end by 5.65 mm wide
