Antique long gold filled guard chain. This chain is designed a slinky rounded snake link. Small rectangular links are connected together to form a rounded shape. It's very smooth and tactile. The terminating links are each connected to an oversized spring bolt clasp. This chain is long enough to wear doubled or tripled around the neck and is strong enough to hold a pendant or locket. Circa late 19th century.

Not marked, tested as gold filled.

Measures 137 cm / 54 inches long, and is approx 2 mm wide.
