Antique belcher link chain dating to the late 19th century. This long chain is made of rounded, rolo style links, which are lightly faceted allowing them to catch the light. One chain end terminates at a large jump ring and the other at a large spring bolt clasp. This chain is long enough it can be worn doubled or as a single strand it goes to around elbow length. The spring bolt clasp is a larger one, which can be worn at the back or hold a pendant and worn at the front. Circa late Victorian, British in origin.
Stamped 9c on a tag near the clasp, professionally tested and assessed throughout. The gold is a pale yellow in colour with a slightly rose tint, though closer to yellow gold in colour.
Measures approx 87 cm / 34.25 inches total length, 3.7 mm wide.
Weighs 19.7 grams.
