Vintage mid 20th century diamond half hoop wedding ring. This wedding band is set with 7 diamonds in a fishtail style setting. The diamonds are set down the claws giving this ring a frilly edged appearance. At either end of the diamonds the platinum comes to a point which leads to a knife edge which softens between the fingers. This ring dates to the 1940s, North American in origin.
The inside retains a personal inscription which reads, "W.T.B. - R.F.B. 10.25.'47." Part of the inscription is worn and difficult to make out, this is our best guess.
Diamonds: 7, single / eight cut, approx 0.10 carats total weight.
Stamped .900 PLAT .100 IRID. This ring is tested and assessed as 900 Platinum, 100 Iridium, a common alloy still in use in parts of the world today, though slightly different to the modern British standard of 950 / 50.
Size: UK - J 3/4; US - 5 1/4; EU - 15.9. This ring can be sized down to I.5 / 4.75 or up to N.5 / 7. Sizing available for an additional fee.
Measures approx 2.95 mm wide by 13.65 mm across and rises 2.7 mm tall on the finger.
Weighs 3.05 grams.
