Vintage diamond solitaire ring dating to the late Art Deco era. The old European cut diamond in this ring is bright and beautiful with a nice flowery facet pattern. It's set very low in the setting in crown style white gold claws. The band is narrow and a shining yellow gold.

The diamond is an older style of cut, hand cut, and with a smaller table, higher crown, and open culet as compared to today's diamonds. The facet pattern is chunky and blocky giving it a floral feel. I think it's sweet that the inside of this ring is engraved with the date meaningful to this couple, just imagine a Christmas Eve proposal and announcing the engagement to all the family the following day!!

The inside of this band is engraved with the original owner's inscription, "J.O. + G.D 24.12.38"

Diamond: European cut, approx 5.93 mm and calculated in setting as 0.76 carats, J colour, VS1 clarity.

Stamped 18ct. This ring has been tested and assessed as 18 carat gold.

Size: UK - Q 1/2; US - 8 1/2; EU - 18.6. This ring can be sized several sizes up or down. Resizing down would cause the loss of initials, but depending on how far down should retain the metal fineness marks and engraved date. Resizing available for an additional fee.

Measures approx 6.5 mm wide and rises 5 mm tall off the finger.

Weighs 2.05 grams.
