Art deco platinum setting with baguette and round diamonds, set with the most amazing purplish-blue tanzanite! This setting came to us without a centre stone after popping in more than a few to see what we wanted it was the tanzanite that stole our hearts. The colour is fantastic! Won over we've had it set and it looks just perfect. The setting is an original Art Deco platinum mounting. On each side is a bezel set straight cut baguette, running lengthways, parallel to the centre gemstone. A small eight cut round diamond is bead set into a triangle shape leading to a knife edge band and keeping the clean, classic Art Deco lines. Setting is circa 1930s.

Tanzanite is a modern gemstone, having only been discovered for the first time in the late 1960s. The gemstone itself is blue to purple in colour and has become a popular choice both because of it's colour and because it's a less expensive alternative to sapphire. We've chosen a tanzanite which is a lovely purplish-blue in colour. It does look more blue in daylight and more purple in incandescent lighting. Tanzanite is modern.

Tanzanite: known weight of 0.92 carats, approx 6 mm. I

Diamonds: 2 straight cut baguettes are approx 0.06 carats each and 2 eight cut diamonds are approx 0.03 carats each for a total of 0.18 carats diamond weight.

Marked PLATINUM and tested as such.

Measures 6.03 mm wide and stands approx 5.15 mm tall off the finger.
