Antique Georgian black dot paste set in ring. The large paste is cushion in shape and foil backed with a small black dot on the culet to resemble a diamond. The paste section was probably originally a button or similar. A twisted gold shank added later has allowed it to be worn as a ring. Paste circa 1830s, date of conversion later but unknown.

Paste: black dot, old cushion in shape and measures approx 7.3 mm by 6.9 mm. It is close backed, assumed foiled as was normal for the time.

Not hallmarked. Collet tested as silver, 800 to 900. Band tested as 9 / 10 carat gold.

Size: UK - K; US - 5 1/4; EU - 16. The band is twisted all the way around. Resizing would disrupt this leaving a plain section. This ring can be sized several sizes smaller or larger.

Measures approx 7.6 mm by 8.4 mm on top. Stands 5.6 mm tall. Band is 1.3 mm wide.

Weighs 1.7 grams.
